These daily videos were recorded on Instagram and used as a Vlog throughout my ride across the United States.
The Instagram Daily Stories were the most streamlined and simplest way for me to share my journey with all of my friends, family, and followers as the ride unfolded.
All short videos were filmed vertically because they were created to work well on mobile devices. They videos are all still live on my ‘highlights’ on my Instagram account ( @stoutabout ), but I wanted to pull them off Instagram so that I could have them saved offline as-well-as posting on YouTube.
Final farewell & bon voyage before my Cross-Country Charity Bike Ride!
May 14th is the last night I’ll be home before hitting the road to cycle across the United States! I’m flying to Maine on May 15th, and will be biking back to San Diego from the Canadian Border over a 3-month period.
Please come out to Wheat & Water in Bird Rock, San Diego, on May 14, 2018, to help me get across the country, to raise awareness for brain cancer, and help further research towards finding a cure for Glioblastoma.
As many of you know this ride was spurred on by my Dad’s dream to cycle across the United States, which he was never able to fulfill. His time was cut short by Glioblastoma (Brain Cancer), so now it’s my time to ride in his name.
My Dad, Charles David Stout, was an associate professor and researcher at The Scripps Research Institute, and all proceeds will go towards the ride and the Scripps Clinic Glioblastoma Cancer Fund.
The goal is to raise $10,000, but doesn’t have to stop there! I will keep the GoFundMe account open until the completion of my journey. As of today, we have already raised $7,000, and there is still a lot of time to go!!!
I will be guest bartending, and there will be a raffle where we raffle off generous donations from some of my close friends! There will also be food and drink specials.
Thank You Wheat & Water!
All are welcome!
